VoIP Voice Over Internet Protocol
The Voice Over Internet Protocol or the VoIP is the routing of voice conversations over the internet or through another IP based network. There are some companies that provide VoIP services are commonly called providers and protocols that carry the signals from the voice over to an IP network are called Voice Over IP’s. There are two types of services that provide what you need, they are the DID (Direct Inward Dialing) and the access numbers. The DID will actually connect the called directly to the VoIP user as the access number require the caller to enter an extension number that belongs to the VoIP user.

The access numbers are usually charged as a local call to the caller and free to the VoIP users and the DID has a monthly fee for connection. There are some DID's that are free to the user but the caller will get the fee. Most people who have DID would rather have the fee charged to them because other people would not call the VoIP user if they had to pay for the call.

The basic functions of the VoIP user is that they have incoming phone calls that can be automatically routed to your VoIP phone no matter where to you are connected. There are free phone numbers for use with VoIP available in the United States and the United Kingdom and there are some others but these two are the major carriers. The call centers can work anywhere with a steady internet connection.
